Founders' Day Weekend

Happy 200th Birthday! Established on June 2, 1823, West Chester Township celebrates its birthday on Founders' Day Weekend. The Olde West Chester Founders Day Walk is set for Saturday, June 1, 2024. First Financial Bank presents THE TAKEOVER on The Square

Need to unwind after work?  Grab some friends and head to The Square @ Union Centre on Thursday nights as First Financial Bank presents The Takeover on The Square.  Great bands, beer and food are featured every week, and it’s a great place to kick the weekend off early.  Free concerts offered Memorial Day through Labor Day. Learn more >

Keehner Park Concert Series

The Keehner Park concerts are 7-9 p.m. on select Saturdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day at the Keehner Park Amphitheater.  The free concerts welcome all guests to pack a picnic for the evening.  Sorry, but alcohol is NOT permitted. Learn more >

West Chester Market

West Chester Market operates year-round. The weekly summer markets on The Square @ Union Centre kick off in late May and run every Saturday through September. Local growers and makers line the street and are joined by musicians, special activities and more creating a colorful experience for all. In cold-weather months, vendors move indoors at the Muhlhauser Barn on select Saturdays (about twice per month) from late November through March. Special spring and fall market events meet select Saturdays back on The Square. Learn more >

Live The Dream: Our Declaration of Unity - January 20, 2025

The communities of West Chester and Liberty townships annually come together to commemorate the life and work of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Friends and neighbors are invited to begin MLK Day together with march for unity. The event includes a special program. Students who live in the Lakota school district are encouraged to enter the Live the Dream contest each fall leading up to the event. All are invited to join on the day of, and/or become part of the planning committee. Learn more >

Shamrock Shuffle - March 15, 2025

Edge Teen Center

Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with this community run/walk and block party. Register a team and bring a cheering squad to win prizes.  This annual event takes place on The Square @ Union Centre and the race route runs through the Union Centre area and into the neighborhoods of Beckett Ridge.

West Chester Firefighters Association Egg Hunt - Date TBA

Rain or shine. Bring a basket or bag and arrive early! This event for kids 0-8 is presented by the West Chester Firefighters Association at the upper fields of Keehner Park, 7411 Barret Road.

Memorial Day Parade - May 26, 2025

VFW Post 7697 and American Legion Post 681

Memorial Day ceremonies in West Chester are planned each year by local veterans groups VFW Post 7696 and American Legion Post 681. On Saturday morning, scout groups participate in the Setting of the Flags to mark the graves of U.S. military veterans buried at West Chester Cemetery (also known as Brookside Cemetery). On Monday, a morning Memorial Day Parade makes its way through the historic Olde West Chester business district to the cemetery on West Chester Road for a special remembrance ceremony. While the parade is in motion, members of the West Chester ~ Union Township Historical Society read aloud the names of all veterans interred at the cemetery where more than 700 are laid to rest, including 100 Civil War veterans and one Revolutionary War veteran. 

Food Truck Rally - June 6, 2025

Get those taste buds ready for the Union Centre Food Truck Rally, an all-day Friday festival! Dozens of trendy gourmet food trucks set up shop for the day on The Square @ Union Centre. A premier West Chester, Ohio summer event, the Union Centre Food Truck Rally regularly draws a crowd of thousands to enjoy this annual day/night food & music festival. Taps, Tastes and Tunes - Fourth of July

VOA Museum Executive Board 

Taps, Tastes and Tunes at the VOA Museum is the best place to enjoy Fourth of July Fireworks presented by West Chester Township. Celebrate the Independence Day holiday weekend with bands, food, beer and fun! There is no cost for admission at this three-day outdoor festival. Taps, Tastes and Tunes is a ColdIron Productions, LLC event offered in cooperation with MetroParks of Butler County and will benefit the National Voice of America Museum of Broadcasting. Learn more >

Voices of America Country Music Festival - August 7-10, 2025

The VOA Country Music Fest returns to Voice of America MetroPark and the National Voice of America Museum of Broadcasting for a second summer in 2024. The four-day event includes live performances by some of the biggest names in country music. This is a ticketed event. Learn more >

The Alzheimer’s Association of Greater Cincinnati

The Walk to End Alzheimer's - Butler and Warren Counties takes place on The Square @ Union Centre. The annual event raises funds and awareness for the Alzheimer's Association of Greater Cincinnati. Learn more >

The Great Pumpkin Fest - October 4, 2025

This free, family-friendly fall festival at Keehner Park features fun and entertainment including a puppet show, petting zoo, costume contest, a Not-So-Scary haunted trail, games, and more from 2 to 6 p.m. Booth space is limited. With questions email call (513) 759-3960.

A Very Merry Takeover and Santa Trot - December 7, 2024

West Chester Township is working with Community Caring Collaborative (C3) and MidPointe Library to host A Very Merry Takeover and Santa Trot on The Square @ Union Centre! The event includes a 1.5 mile Santa suit fun run/walk, a Christmas bazaar and a free concert by the Naked Karate Girls! Pioneer Christmas - December 15, 2024

Celebrate the holidays just like the pioneers would have! The Cabin in the Clearing at Keehner Park is decorated for a traditional holiday celebration as Santa visits children from 1 to 4 p.m. Cozy up by the fire and taste real pioneer fare like rabbit stew, molasses cookies and spices cider.

Armchair Program

Chase away the winter blues and dream of faraway places as local travelers share pictures and stories from their favorite adventures. Guests are invited on photo tours 'round the globe from the comfort of Township Hall. Presentations showcase a different vacation spot on select Friday evenings in January, February and March. Learn more >
