Nature Programs for Children

West Chester offers a few programs for children and families that focus on nature and our parks. These programs are free, but registration is required.

MetroParks of Butler County, West Chester's partner in park programming and facilities also offers special events and nature programming countywide and at the Voice of America Park in West Chester.

Nature Basket (ages 3-5)

Nature Basket programs are suited for preschool children, ages 3 to 5, and their adult companions. All programs include a story, a talk about seasonal nature and a craft. Adult help with the craft is required. All sessions begin at 10:30 a.m. Programs meet at Keehner Park at 7211 Barret Road in the summer and fall and at the MidPointe Library at 9363 Centre Pointe Drive in the winter. Rain does not cancel!

Craft Kits

RSVP to take home a craft kit. Families unable to attend may pick up craft kits inside the lobby of the West Chester Township Administration building, 9113 Cincinnati Dayton Road, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. beginning the day after each program.
