On August 10, 2004, the West Chester Township Board of Trustees approved the creation of the Union Centre Road District – Interchange Boulevard Landscape Improvement and Maintenance District and its boundaries.  Properties within these boundaries were determined to benefit from the beautification improvements along roadways in the District, especially along Union Centre Boulevard and at the Union Centre Interchange.  Therefore, properties within this District are assessed costs on a semiannual basis to maintain the beautification improvements.

Renewal of the District is required every 10 years. The Board of Trustees approved renewal of this District in 2014 and in June 2024.
