West Chester Township participates in the I-75 Energy Special Improvement District (ESID) offering an affordable approach for companies making energy efficient sustainable improvements to their properties.

The adoption of the West Chester ESID is a major benefit to the Township’s business retention & attraction efforts and enhances the community’s overall economic development marketability. .

West Chester entered an agreement to join the existing I-75 Energy Special Improvement District (ESID), first formed in 2020 by the City of Monroe and joined by Liberty Township and the City of Fairfield, as a participating political subdivision.

The State of Ohio authorizes the establishment of ESIDs to implement Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing options. PACE gives property owners located in the district an affordable way to make energy efficient, sustainable improvements – new windows, solar panels, upgraded HVAC systems, etc. – to their businesses by petitioning the government for a Special Assessment administered at the county level.

The I-75 ESID is managed by a Board of Directors that reviews business requests and ensures projects meet all qualifications of the PACE terms. Three projects to invest in energy upgrades at the Hyatt House hotel at VOA Park are part of the initial rollout of the I-75 ESID in West Chester.

West Chester joins its I-75 ESID cooperative partners in recognizing and thanking economic development partner REDI Cincinnati for its role in this program.
