Chief Prinz is responsible for the leadership of the Department’s personnel, five fire stations, and nearly $17 million budget. He was named Chief in 2015.

The Chief’s career in West Chester began in 1990 as a firefighter. He earned promotions to lieutenant (2000), captain (2003) and assistant chief (2007) before being tapped to lead. His fire service career began as a part-time firefighter in Colerain and Springdale.

He earned an associate’s degree in Fire Science from the University of Cincinnati and graduated from Ohio Fire Executive training in 2005. The Chief is credentialed as an Ohio Chief Officer.

In his role, Chief Prinz also leads/coordinates township-wide emergency preparedness efforts.

The West Chester Fire Department provides all hazards emergency response service to the community through fire suppression, fire prevention and emergency medical services. The Chief is committed to developing an elite team of professionals to offer the community exceptional service through thoughtful, deliberate and responsible allocation of resources – whether that is financial, human resources, equipment, facilities or training.
