Pioneer Christmas

Celebrate the holidays just like the pioneers would have!

Pioneer Christmas is a re-creation of a classic 19th century American Christmas party. The event has been a holiday season staple for Butler County families since its inception in the 1990s.

Guests who enter the 1833 log cabin at Keehner Park will step back more than 150 years to simpler times. Cozy up to the fireplace and enjoy complimentary treats like molasses cookies and apple cider. Traditional pioneer fare – from venison chili to game meats like buffalo, elk, duck and rabbit – will also be available to taste.

Don't forget to bring the camera! Santa will be available all afternoon for photos in front of the live Christmas tree. And all children will go home with a candy cane.

This event is free and open to the public.
