Acadia National Park – Where the Sun Rises First

Chase away the winter blues and dream of faraway places as local travelers share pictures and stories from their favorite adventures. Guests are invited to virtually travel the world from the comfort of Township Hall. Six evening presentations will feature a different vacation spot on select Friday evenings over January, February and March.

Rosemary & Bill Deitzer will take us to Acadia National Park. Through the generosity and work of two men, the Park was created, made accessible for all, and then gifted to the National Park Service.  It’s a fascinating history of Acadia, the town of Bar Harbor, its people and lobster fishermen. George Dorr, a local, and his friend, John D. Rockefeller, Jr., created this seaside masterpiece. They envisioned, acquired and funded it.
