Touch a Truck
Cool trucks bring out the kid in all of us. Each year, West Chester flings open the garage doors and shares with the community all of the cool trucks that serve our community every day.
New for 2019, Touch A Truck in West Chester will include a “sensory friendly” hour from 10 to 11 a.m. Families may visit one hour early, before the full event gets rolling, to see West Chester Township public service vehicles up close and meet the heroes who operate the equipment. Participating vehicles will be located on West Chester Towne Centre Road. Vehicle attendants will discourage use of horns, lights and sirens during the hour, and there will be no helicopter landings or takeoffs.
Fire trucks, police vehicles, snow plows, military vehicles, helicopters, rescue boats and more line the streets on The Square @ Union Centre. Feel free to climb behind the wheel, sit in the shovel of the backhoe, and speak with the men and women who operate the equipment essential to community operations.
This event is completely free. Plan to spend a couple hours and then enjoy lunch at a nearby restaurant.
