The Shamrock Shuffle
A community 5K/10K run & walk with block party
Nearly 5,000 runners and walkers are expected to participate in the Shamrock Shuffle on Saturday, March 9 in West Chester. The 13th annual run/walk and block party is hosted by and benefits The Community Foundation of West Chester/Liberty and dozens of local charities.

Road Closures
Roads immediately surrounding The Square @ Union Centre, 9285 Centre Pointe Dr., will close from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m. on race day*. Road closures along the race course will be in place from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the safety of runners and walkers. Access will be maintained to businesses with Saturday morning operations, but leave extra time for travel in this area.
Block Party Closures
Roads closed from 4 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the block party surrounding The Square include:
- Centre Pointe Drive, between entrances to MidPointe Library and AK Steel;
- West Chester Towne Centre, between Centre Loop and Centre Pointe drives.
*Please note: A portion of the roundabout nearest The Square @ Union Centre will be closed beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, March 8 for set up.
Race Closures
Roads closed from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. for the race include:
- Union Centre Boulevard, between Beckett and West Chester roads;
- West Chester Road, between Union Centre Boulevard and AK Steel access drive;
- Lakota Drive West, from the Eagle Ridge round-about to Union Centre Boulevard;
- Beckett Road, between Union Centre and Beckett Ridge boulevards – access will be maintained for residents in the area.
Roads impacted but not closed include: Beckett Ridge Boulevard, Rupp Farm, Owl’s Nest and Eagle Ridge Drive at the round-about.
Beckett Park, including the recycling center and playground, as well as Lakota West High School will also not be accessible to anyone (except those involved with ACT testing) during the race.
