A standard sign identifies for the West Chester Fire Department a specific water supply connection to a building or system. Fire Department Connections are part of the building's sprinkler system allowing the Fire Department to connect the fire truck's hose to supplement the pressure of the sprinkler system when activated. 

The signs are designed in a manner that makes it obvious to an approaching fire truck. It identifies the location of the connection, as well as who the connection belongs to. This ultimately saves time in the event of a fire.
