Trustees launch search for next Administrator
Consulting firm hired
The West Chester Board of Trustees has approved a contract with an executive search firm to help identify the community’s next Township Administrator.
Judi Boyko announced her resignation effective Aug. 1 after a 13-year career as West Chester’s Administrator. Mrs. Boyko was recently named Hamilton County’s Assistant County Administrator.
“We (The Board of Trustees) determined hiring an executive recruitment firm, knowledgeable and experienced in the hiring of successful public administrator candidates, to be the wisest and most prudent approach to finding a replacement for Mrs. Boyko,” said Board of Trustees President Mark Welch.
The Novak Consulting Group was selected from among three potential firms. The Novak Group has successfully placed City Managers/Township Administrators for Ohio communities including: City of Centerville, City of Cleveland Heights, City of Dublin, Village of Granville, Miami Township in Montgomery County, as well as jurisdictions outside Ohio.
The process of selecting a new Administrator for West Chester Township is expected to take at least three months and will include developing a position profile, a search strategy and several steps of candidate review and interviews.
“The Novak Consulting Group has the expertise, resources and ability to conduct a thorough recruitment effort in order to identify the best candidate for the position,” said Trustee Lee Wong.
At its June 27 meeting, the Board of Trustees contracted with Larry Fronk to serve as Interim Township Administrator during the search process. Mr. Fronk, retired Miami Township (Clermont County) Administrator, is not eligible to apply for the permanent position.
“As we embark on this process to identify a permanent candidate for Judi’s replacement, I want to ensure the community the Board is committed to identifying and appointing an outstanding professional to lead our workforce and deliver Township services in a manner to which our businesses and residents are accustomed,” said Trustee George Lang.
The cost for The Novak Consulting Group’s services will be $21,800, plus an additional $3,200 to cover ancillary recruitment costs identified throughout the process.
