West Chester Township benefits from a full-time professional Fire Department, with a part-time complement, providing fire suppression and emergency medical services while focusing on prevention and education in the community. The Department is led by Chief Tony Goller.
The Township is served from five fully operational fire houses located throughout the community to provide efficient response times.
The West Chester Fire Department is divided into five critical areas of service: Administration, Operations, Risk Management and Training, Loss Prevention and Emergency Medical Services.
Administration: The Administrative Division focuses on staffing, equipment acquisition and other issues related to the overall operation of the Department.
Operations: The Operations Division is responsible for the daily operation of the fire stations and for the constant evaluation and improvement of service to customers.
Risk Management and Training: The Risk Management Bureau works with personnel to ensure that all training is current and every effort is made to avoid injuries.
Loss Prevention: The Loss Prevention Bureau works closely with the community to offer educational programming and safety information; and is responsible for code enforcement and fire and life safety inspections.
Emergency Medical Services: This division works to ensure that the first line of medical services in the Township is current and meets standards for training and service.
